PANTHER PRIDE FOCAL POINT
Let’s take a minute to discuss the importance of Attendance! As we get further into the school year, and the weather gets a little colder, it stays dark a little longer, and it gets tougher to get ourselves up and moving in the mornings. However, Attendance is so critical to your success here at school and in life. If you aren’t “here” or “there”, whether it be in life or at school, you miss out on so many experiences that you cannot get back. In some situations you might be able to “make things up,” but you are still missing extremely important pieces of information and experiences that could serve you well down the road. Being present (meaning to be physically and mentally there) is a LIFE skill, not just a school skill. If you develop a pattern of not showing up for things now, it gets even harder down the road to change that behavior. So here’s your challenge; Be dedicated to showing up. Be dedicated to be present and involved, even on those dark, difficult, chilly mornings. Have a great week! Go PANTHERS!!

Friday, October 13th Jostens will be here during lunch for the juniors to turn in your class jewelry/letter jacket order and for the seniors to turn in your graduation announcement orders.

- Picture Retakes are October 25th @ 8:30. If you didn't get your picture taken the first time please come at that time even if you do not have to be at school at that time.
- Join GSA for crafts, candy, and conversation on Tuesday, 10/17. We will meet after school in Mrs. McBride's classroom (room 322). ALL STUDENTS ARE WELCOME!
- Have you seen the purple "Tomorrow needs YOU" t-shirts and sweatshirts? Would you like one for yourself? Support KHS junior, Marley Larson, in her efforts to advocate for mental health and raise awareness for suicide prevention by buying one! - Any student interested in joining the Knoxville Rec Center Winter Swim Season Registration is OPEN from now, until Friday, November 10th for ages 6-18.

DRIVERS ED:
Any student interested in signing up for fall drivers ed you can stop in the office and pick up a form. Classes start October 22nd.
SILVERCORD:
Merry N County Christmas is looking for volunteers to helpSetting up displays & hanging Christmas lights at Marion County Park on Nov 4th and Nov 11th from 8 am to Noon each day. Help could be used on Nov 6th and Nov 10th, specific times will be determined at a later date. If you are interested please contact Vanessa Szlachetka via email at vanny_jo@yahoo.com
If you are not interested in setting up displays and lights, we will be seeking volunteer help during the event. This will entail greeting cars as they enter the park to hand out flyers, candy canes and collect donations. This will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Nov 17 - Dec 24 from 5:30 - 8:00.
