  PANTHER PRIDE FOCAL POINT

Thanksgiving is fastly approaching. Undoubtedly you will be asked to think about the things in which you are Thankful for!  Before that happens let’s take a moment and discuss how we may better reflect on ourselves and our lives, and see how we can bring a stronger meaning to this activity of “thanksgiving”.  By definition, the word thankful means to be “pleased and relieved”.  Both of those are great feelings and can’t think of a person who wouldn’t want to feel pleased and/or relieved.  But that’s just it, they are feelings.  On the other hand, the word Grateful means “to show an appreciation of kindness”.  The difference, as you can see, is that one of the words is a FEELING and the other an ACTION.  Being Thankful is the first step in taking a reflective inventory on your life, but by taking the next step and enacting Gratitude we can then begin to have a positive effect on the lives of those around us.  So by all means, please go ahead and reflect on all you have to be thankful for, but be sure to follow those ideas up with gratitude and showing the ways in which you are grateful.  Have a great week and Go Panthers!

Quote of the Week

“Piglet noticed that even though he had a very small heart, it could hold a rather large amount of gratitude.”

- A.A. Milne
