  PANTHER PRIDE FOCAL POINT

Surprise, Surprise. This week’s Panther Pride Focus will focus on the importance of attendance.  Not just overall attendance, but the importance of making it to school on time each and every morning.  It may seem like you are not really missing anything when you show up just a little late. However, it is more than just what you miss in those few minutes. The real importance has to do with the habits that you form when you make punctuality a priority.  Arriving late to school, or to practice, or even to commitments with friends and family, on a consistent basis, can lead to a bad habit that could take a lifetime to break.  Being the “late person” can negatively impact future work ethic and employment opportunities, as well as relationships.  When you build the habit of showing up on time, whether it be school, work, or other commitments, you begin to prove that you can be relied upon and that you have a good sense of personal responsibility and respect.  So when the alarm clock goes off this week I want you to think not about what you might miss by being late, but rather what you will gain by being on time.  Have a great week! And GO PANTHERS!!

Quote of the Week

“Arriving late was a way of saying that your own time was more valuable than the time of the person who waited for you.” ― Karen Joy Fowler

If you are interested in helping out please send an email to Pat Finan.  pfinan@foodbankiowa.org
