Congratulations to this month's Character Strong Respect nominees! These students were nominated by staff members at Northstar. Their names were announced yesterday morning over the intercom, and given their certificate that included the nomination written by the staff member. This picture will be displayed in the entrance at Northstar for the rest of the year to recognize these Character Strong students. Congratulations everyone!!

School starts August 26th at 7:55am (please note this is NOT your typical late start Monday)!
School will dismiss 2 hours early at 1:25pm both Monday and Tuesday!
Need help with registration? Today is the day! Come see us at the Back to School Bash from 3pm-6pm in the High School Commons (enter the door on Madison St. across from the tennis courts).

KCSD dismissing 2-hours early Tues. May 21 due to weather. KMS storm shelter will be open. Please use KMS entrance.
Students in 5AR and 5J were knighted at the conclusion of our Adventures of Don Quixote unit in Ms. Rankin's room! After learning about knighthood and reading Adventure of Don Quixote, Mr. Keitges led a Dubbing Ceremony, where students agreed to follow the "Panther Code of Chivalry". Students chose Sir or Dame names, chose a "Knight of the ..." title, colored a knight mask to wear for the ceremony, and Mr. Keitges dubbed each student in these classes a Northstar Knight! It was a fun way to conclude this unit!

Today, students in Mrs. Hardman's and Mrs. Spriggs' had the opportunity to video chat with author Jennifer Dewey. Jennifer is the author of a story they were reading about a trip to Antarctica. Students wrote questions in preparation for the chat, and then had the chance to ask all their questions.
