Mark your calendars for the Annual Retired Teachers' Appreciation Social organized by The Knoxville Education Foundation!

Dear KCSD Panther Family:
We are very excited to announce an initiative for the 2024-2025 school year that will have a major, positive impact on KCSD Activities. In partnership with the Iowa Media Network, the GoKnoxvilleTV network will launch and broadcast home and away contests throughout the school year with Dewayne Cook serving as lead broadcaster. Dewayne has been the Voice of GoSCCTV - the South Central Conference Network - the past 2 years. Since the start of the 2022-2023 school year, GoSCCTV has been video broadcasting many of our athletic events in addition to creating content of several other activity groups within each school in the conference.
What does this mean? KCSD will have awesome livestream coverage of our home and away events for athletics, performing arts, and other activities. We are thrilled to welcome Dewayne along with Iowa Media Network and co-owners Russ Ocker and AJ Anderson and Executive Producer Jimmy Ott II to the Knoxville Family. The Iowa Media Network has launched several successful livestream platforms over the years including GoHillsTV, GoPitchTV, GoSCCTV, and GoClarkeTV - all of which provide a professional level broadcast and viewing experience for the consumer.
Knoxville students have been part of GoSCCTV serving as color analysts, sideline reporters and camera technicians which have given them great authentic learning experiences. We look forward to offering these opportunities and more in the future.
We are excited to showcase our students and activity programs on a professional level platform to a worldwide audience.
Please go like and follow this network on Facebook @GoKnoxvilleTV. You can also download the Iowa Media Network app.
Go Panthers!

Ryan Paulsen, Activities Director

KCSD Preschool teachers (Erin Clarke, Brooke Chrisman, Patrick Murphy and Stacey Trevillyan), AEA consultant (Barb Puffinbarger) and Special Education Director (Lindsay Rains) engaged in professional learning around Specially Designed Instruction for PreSchool with the Department of Education for the past three years. Today marked the completion as they shared about how this learning has impacted changes in their instruction to impact successful inclusion for all students.

Important Weather Alert Information:
The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Marion County until 6:00 PM tonight. We will diligently keep watch over the weather situation. In the event of a need to seek shelter at dismissal, please note that all students and transportation services will remain in place until the threat subsides. Our school office staff will also take shelter and will be unable to attend to phone calls or grant access to school premises. Students will only be released once it's safe to do so. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this matter.
Sincerely,
Cassi Pearson, Superintendent

She comes to each classroom and talks about different food groups and how they all play an essential role in our diet every day as our students grow up to be strong individuals! After her lesson, students have the opportunity to try some different foods from the food group she taught on.
